What is Alpha Gamma Sigma ?
The students and alumni of Alpha Gamma Sigma take pride in high standards and developing meaningful brotherhood. Our common background and value systems help to quickly build relationships that last a lifetime. <\ul>> Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us daily. - Sally Koch

    CHARACTER

Our mission is to guide young men on their journey to develop and exhibit character. SANSKRIT, our fraternity education program, provides the framework for all activities. It provides opportunities to grow personally and academically. Each brother is challenged to achive his potential while working with others to benefit the fraternity and college community.

All brothers are expected to live by our Thirteen Principles. Working with peer and alumni mentors, each brother establishes developmental goals to achieve the requirements of the fraternity's membership and recognition levels.

    SCHOLARSHIP

Gaining knowledge and skill to prepare for life's work is the reason we invest in college. As the workplace becomes more competitive, we must acquire knowledge and develop the human relation skills to work cooperatively in team settings.

Alpha Gamma Sigma emphasizes the scholarly development of our members. Effective goal setting, personal improvement seminars such as time management, and the support of your brothers, will assure environment needed for academic success.

Our chapters maintain study files of classes at assist our members in preparing for tests and assignments. Incentives are presented to motivate brothers to achieve grade point average goals and assistance is given to complete scholarship applications.

Achieving academic success is fundamental component of SANSKRIT and the highest priority for Alpha Gamma Sigma.

Membership in Alpha Gamma Sigma provides numerous opportunities for personal growth and leadership development.

From chapter meetings, committees and activities to campus organizations and intramurals, our brothers have the chance to practice leadership and followership skills in a real-world laboratory. The guidance of mentors helps each brother find the roles that best fit.

Living and working with fraternity brothers is a valuable learning experience. Respecting diversity of thought, standing firm in one's values, and learning the art of compromise are skills that transfer directly to the workplace.

Through SANSKRIT, we encourage our brothers to maintain balance in their life. By using the Thirteen Principles to guide our lives, this balance is achieved.

The brotherhood of Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity fosters a special bond that helps each brother grow to be his best. It is a challenge and a commitment that lasts a lifetime.

We are here to help one another along life's journey. - William J. Bennett

    LEADERSHIP

COLLEGE - a time of excitement and challenge! For many, it's the first time away from the structure of your family and friends. You may have the following questions racing through your mind as you prepare for college:

Will I make new friends that have the same interests and values that I do?
      Can I make the grade?
Will I be a number and get lost in the crowd?
      How can I grow personally?
Can I find the right job after graduation?
Answers to these questions can be found in a unique organization called a fraternity - a group of young men with similar values and interest who have formed a brotherhood to offer support and assistance to each other.
